Kindred pride foundation donates $15,000 in inaugural year

ORLANDO, Fla. – February 22, 2020  – The KindRED Pride Foundation, a registered 501 (c) 3 announced that they raised over $15,000 that was distributed to a number of non-profits that serve the LGBTQ+ community.

“We were so excited that our RED Shirt Pride Day initiative and our We Are One – An Extravaganza for Diversity & Inclusion engaged so many amazing supporters and partner organizations,” said Billy Looper, President of the Kindred Pride Foundation. KindRED Pride Foundation had 35 partner organizations participate in their RED Shirt Pride Day T-Shirt campaign, which raised $4,500. The following non-profits benefited from our 2019 efforts: One Orlando Alliance, National LGBTQ Task Force, Outserve/SLDN, Zebra Coalition, Space Coast Pride, Come Out with Pride (Orlando), Julian’s Fountain of Youth, Orlando Youth Alliance, The Point Foundation, You Can Play, Impulse Group, The 49 Fund, Federation of Gay Games and Joy MCC.

In addition, Kindred Pride Foundation adopted Santa’s Bike Force and raised over $11,000. They celebrated the holiday season with a a bike giveaway to over 107 underserved youths in the Central Florida community. The give-away was held at Joy MCC church in Orlando and volunteers helped Santa and his Elves assist in this fun and inspiring event.

Our last fundraising goal in 2019 was to raise funds as seed capital for Kindred Pride Foundation’s launch of The Pride Cup 2020. The Pride Cup is an annual LGBT+ multi-sport competition. World Center Marriott is the host hotel. Our goal is to bring 1,500 LGBT+ athletes from around the world to Orlando to participate in a world-class sporting tournament. We have partnered with the Federation of Gay Games and Sin City Classic to use their models for success in Orlando. Through generous private donations, Kindred Pride was able to raise $25,000 in 2019 to make sure the event had the proper foundation to fund the event.

The Kindred Pride Foundation’s mission is to honor the kindred spirit, bravery, and courage of the original RED Shirt Pride Day attendees at Magic Kingdom by bringing the community together to celebrate our differences as well as our oneness through sport, culture, and musical events.
